According to the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on January 25, the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and the Raw Materials Industry Department recently held a seminar on expanding aluminum applications. Representatives from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the China Formwork and Scaffolding Association, the Chalco Materials Application Research Institute, and Shangqing Times attended the meeting.
The meeting summarized the achievements, experience, and shortcomings of the work to expand aluminum applications, and analyzed the consumption potential of aluminum and the key directions for expanding its applications. Participants believed that aluminum has excellent properties such as light weight, high strength, easy processing and molding, corrosion resistance, and recyclability, and has great consumption potential. However, it still faces problems such as the need to optimize and improve quality, high application costs, imperfect standards and regulations, and poor supply and demand coordination. Next steps should include promoting the organic combination of expanding domestic demand and deepening supply-side structural reforms, adhering to technological innovation and business model innovation, giving full play to the advantages of aluminum's structural and functional integration characteristics, focusing on major national economic development needs, focusing on key areas and key products, building upstream and downstream cooperation platforms, improving product standards and design specifications, developing service-oriented manufacturing, continuously improving the supply capacity of high-end aluminum materials, fully tapping the consumption potential of aluminum in transportation, packaging containers, machinery equipment, building structures, emergency rescue, etc., reducing application costs, increasing publicity and promotion, forming a dynamic balance of demand driving supply and supply creating demand, and promoting the high-quality development of the aluminum industry.
